Loving God, One Another and The World
We enjoy an annual men’s retreat and once-a-month gatherings where we meet and discuss the various topics related to our retreat theme. Subjects such as “Be the Leader You Were Meant to Be,” “How to Make Wise Decisions,” and “The Complete Husband” have been taught in recent years. Our current theme for 2012 is based on the book “Christ’s Call to Discipleship.” There are also weekly and bi-weekly men’s accountability and discipleship groups.
Another aspect of our Men’s Ministry is the New Commandment Ministry.
We serve the widow, single mother, disabled person or senior in our church family with a project that they cannot complete on their own because of financial and physical constraints.
“New Commandment” Men’s Ministry trains and deploys teams of 4-8 men. Each team goes out approximately once every 6 weeks for about 2 hours to help with practical projects, like home repairs, seasonal yard work, painting, cleaning, or whatever is needed. After they complete their projects, they pray with the care recipient.
